Transcriptional regulation of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK), the rate-limiting
enzyme in hepatic gluconeogenesis, by insulin was investigated with the use of adenovirus
vectors encoding various mutant signaling proteins. Insulin inhibited transcription induced
by dexamethasone and cAMP of a chloramphenicol acetyltransferase (CAT) reporter gene
